Te’iva Johnson Bell, assistant public defender, joined the Felony Trial Division of the Public Defender Office of Harris County in September 2011. Mrs. Bell has been licensed to practice law since May 2005. Before joining the PDO, Mrs. Bell worked as a criminal defense attorney at Bell and Associates, handling all types of felony and misdemeanor cases. Before that, she worked at the Harris County District Attorney’s office as a prosecutor in the trial bureau. Mrs. Bell received her J.D. from the University of Iowa College of Law. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia.
