Shalyn Fluharty

Shalyn Fluharty is the director of the Family Detention Project at Texas RioGrande Legal Aid where she heads up the Dilley Pro Bono Project, which offers legal aid to migrant parents and children detained in Dilley, Texas. Before joining TRLA, she represented unaccompanied immigrant children as a staff attorney and Equal Justice Works Fellow at Catholic Charities in New York City. She also previously worked at the Sacramento County Office of the Public Defender and as the Teen Program director for Camp Mendocino, a program of the Boys and Girls Clubs of San Francisco. Shalyn received a J.D. from the University of California-Davis, a B.A. from Southern Methodist University, and a Masters in Teaching from Dominican University.
