Mr. Ben Obregon

Ben Obregon served on the working group that formulated the merger between the Project Advisory Group (PAG) and the National Legal Aid & Defender Association. He served as the vice chair for NLADA’s Civil Policy Group and as a member of the association’s board of directors and is currently actively involved in the leadership of NLADA’s Latino Advocates Section. He is the vice chair of the board of Legal Action of Wisconsin; past chairman of the board of UMOS, Inc, a multi-state nonprofit agency; and a member of the board of directors of Legal Action of Wisconsin, Senior Citizens Advisory Committee and Downtown Madison Senior Center. Obregon has worked as a resident manager/property manager for more than 20 years. His work experiences include recruiting and training migrant workers in the food processing industry; developing community resources; developing and implementing programs coordinating service delivery to minority populations from local, state, federal, public, and private agencies; teaching English as a second language; and implementing training sessions in health education, safety, job seeking skills, fundraising, and awareness of positive self. He received his associate’s degree in Human Services from Madison Area Technical College in Wisconsin.
