Nalani Fujimori Kaina is the executive director of the Legal Aid Society of Hawai‘i, a statewide LSC program. In 2017, Hawai‘i was selected as one of two pilot states for LSC’s Legal Navigator Project. Born and raised in Hawai‘i, Ms. Kaina began her career as an attorney on Molokai with LASH and also served as a managing attorney and deputy director. She was named one of the 20 for the Next 20 by Hawaii Business magazine and was a Pacific Business News Business Leader of the Year finalist. She serves on the board of a directors of NLADA, commissioner on the Hawai‘i Access to Justice Commission, chair of the Hawai‘i State Advisory Committee to the U.S. Civil Rights Commission. She is also a director and past president of Hawaii Women Lawyers and president of the Rural Community Assistance Corporation. In 2016, she was selected as an Omidyar Fellow to participate in a program aimed at creating a network of societal change leaders from different sectors for Hawai‘i sponsored by eBay founder Pierre Omidyar. Ms. Kaina is a graduate of NYU School of Law.
