Leslie Bailey is a staff attorney at Public Justice, where she litigates complex public interest cases and appeals involving civil rights and liberties, court secrecy, payday lending, and forced arbitration. She has briefed, argued, and won cases in state and federal appellate courts across the country and has testified in both houses of Congress. Leslie is counsel in a putative class action in federal court in Alabama challenging the unconstitutional practices of a for-profit probation company that collects court debt. She was a member of the trial team in Hankin v. City of Seattle, in which a jury found Seattle liable for violating the Fourth Amendment rights of 200 peaceful protesters. Leslie is co-chair of the board of directors for the National Association of Consumer Advocates. She received her J.D. cum laude from New York University School of Law and her B.A. in Philosophy from Claremont McKenna College.
