Colleen Cotter became executive director of the Legal Aid Society of Cleveland in 2005. She is a board member of Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association and Saint Luke’s Foundation, president of Greater Cleveland United Way Council of Agency Executives, and a member of Cleveland Rape Crisis Center Sing Out! Chorale and Leadership Cleveland Class of 2011. She served on the boards of OLAF, Center for Community Solutions, and NLADA and on the LSC Advisory Committees on the Justice Gap, Data Project, and Pro Bono. Her 2007 speech, “Justice and Healthy Communities,” was published in Vital Speeches of the Day. She was named a 2017 Crain’s Woman of Note and received the 2017 CMBA President’s Award. Ms. Cotter worked as a legal aid consultant at Indiana Legal Services and as a Skadden Fellow at Pine Tree Legal Assistance in Maine. She graduated from Indiana University School of Law-Bloomington, summa cum laude, and the University of Notre Dame cum laude.
