Community Legal Services of Mid-Florida
CEO
Orlando, FL
Kimberly Sanchez is CEO of Community Legal Services of Mid-Florida (CLSMF). She leads a program covering all of central Florida, 12 offices and 110 employees. After graduating from the University of Miami School of Law in 2005, Sanchez began her legal career in the public interest with Legal Services of Greater Miami, where she worked on housing cases. After a stint in private practice representing Central Florida consumers, she then came to CLSMF where she led CLSMF’s Housing and Fair Housing Units until her promotion to advocacy/deputy director. As the advocacy and deputy director, Sanchez managed the litigation for the law firm and worked to create organization-wide litigation goals and vision. Her leadership focused on the efficient delivery of legal services to low-income clients; collaboration with community partners and public interest law firms; and the planning, mentoring, and training by the private bar of staff attorneys to foster and develop relationships with law firms, attorneys, law schools, and community organizations. One of her main goals as advocacy and deputy director was to develop and implement litigation strategies that encouraged and created community impact by utilizing the judicial system and leveraging private bar resources. As CEO, Sanchez oversees all the day-to-day operations of the firm, leading a management team composed of financial, fundraising, operations, and compliance professionals. Sanchez employs numerous technologies at the firm to assist with self help services and internal efficiencies. She redeveloped the HELPline as an attorney staffed resource that allows clients to call and immediately be connected to a lawyer without any additional barriers. She works closely with CLSMF’s staff and board of directors to ensure that CLSMF continues to thrive as a nonprofit law firm and to provide high-quality legal assistance to low-income and vulnerable populations.
