This panel will discuss the importance of cross-stakeholder collaboration in supporting the Sixth Amendment Right to Counsel. Most criminal justice stakeholders agree about the importance of the right to counsel and the important role it plays in preserving the justice system. They also recognize that sustainable reforms around the Sixth Amendment requires collaboration from all criminal justice system stakeholders, including those who are traditionally adversaries in the courtroom, such as defenders and prosecutors. The panel will discuss how to move beyond the traditional stakeholder roles and work together to advance Sixth Amendment reform.
