Chanita Chantaplin-McLelland is the managing attorney for the Self-Represented Litigants Program at the Texas Legal Services Center, in Austin, and was previously a staff attorney with Disability Rights Texas in Houston. Along with her team, she oversees TexasLawHelp. In addition to more than 900 publications and forms, TexasLawHelp also offers a livechat service that provides real-time legal advice as well as a growing body of automated legal forms. She has authored forms using Tyler Technologies’ Odyssey Guide & File platform and manages the Technology Initiative Grant partnership with Lone Star Legal Aid that will bring 100 OGF forms to TexasLawHelp. She has a B.A. in Psychology and a B.A. in Government & Politics from the University of Texas at Dallas as well as a J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center.
